The ALP motion acknowledges the climate emergency but is not actually a declaration. We assume the ALP can’t do that from opposition, but the ALP could propose a declaration of climate emergency though. Ged Kearney herself has signed the statement of support for a Climate Emergency Declaration (see Victoria section below).
